Tail-light overspray?

So i have an 04 coupe and finally have a day to clean her up and get some things done

-polished headlights/tail-lights
-debadge
-clean leather etc'

anywho, it looks like maybe the rear bumper had been re-painted at one time because there is over-spray on both tail lights right on the bottom area, about 1/2" up on both sides, its not super thick like it looks like the car but its definately paint overspray, ive clay-bar'd the hell out of it but its still not completely gone

can i use a high grit wet sandpaper to remove the rest of it and then just re-polish the tail light with meguiars headlight restoration kit?

what grit should i use on the tail lights?

thanks fellas, i really appreciate it, ill take pics after she's all cleaned up

you can try wetsanding them with a very high grit. I would say try 2000. that should be just enough to get off the overspray. As far as the meguiars headlight restoration you might need a better polish. Any 3M polish should do the trick tho!

you havent tried any chemicals? now sure what acetone or regular gasoline would do to the finish, but they should get the paint off
