Hey, I heard there was some complaints about the seat leather being a little thin on the 2007 G35 sedans and wanted to know if this type of wear was typical. I posted a picture, the portion of leather in question is on the left side of the driver's seat.
When asked about it the seller of the car said:
"I noticed this happening since the beginning. I don't want to say it's a defect per se, but the sport package comes with bucket seats (I've driven the non-sport model as a courtesy vehicle, and the seats are completely different). When you get in and out of the car, you can feel the added pressure on the seat, which probably adds extra stress to the leather (check it out again when you and **seller's best friend** meet up again). I've applied extra leather conditioner to these 2 spots every time I've washed the car. It helps, but won't make it disappear. Don't use anything else besides Zaino (just my opinion). "
Do you guys think I could prevent it from getting worse?
The car has 45k miles on it, and the flash made the wrinkling look a little worse than it really is.
Other than that, the interior is pretty much flawless. A few scratches on the driver's door handle but nothing noticeable like this.

That wear is normal. I have a feeling that something like Leatherique can take care of it. It's basically the leather there feeling extra pressure and wearing out. If I'm seeing correctly, that should be outboard side of the seat. Imagine getting out of the car with 1 leg out. You're resting your leg on where that wrinkle is before getting the rest of your body out.
Yeah, I guess I could just apply some leatherique to it if it ever got too bad. I've actually already used a similar product on my current car with great results.
It just seems weird to me to be thinking about using it on a car so young, but then, it IS the one part of the seat most likely to be worn on the one seat in the car most likely to be sat in.

We all experience this issue with the 2nd gen sedans. Don't worry you'e not the first. Also I don't think leatherique will fix it completely. It might help, but definitely not fix the issue. I use lexol cleaner + conditioner religiously and mine still looks wrinkly and ugly.
That looks like someone never ever ever took care of their leather. Every car we have that has leather gets leather cleaner then conditioner every month. Hell, my 04 coupe seat even looks better than the one posted by OP. Looks like the previous owner didn't care enough to get proper auto detail jobs every once in a while and condition the seats.
