bluer headlights please!

hey all, i have a guy buddy who i met recently driving here in south florida who owns soundblazers shop and what he did is swap the headlights with the fog lihgts and turned the fog light slot into the install of the H7 kit well anyway he wants 500 plus install plus for the job and i think its rediculus as do all my G friends anyway, i assume its because thats what the kit costs. my question is, are there bulb out there which need no kit that we can just plug in with no modification to make it look like the H7? or even make it look like the original bulb which the car come with but how they look in the first 30 seconds becuase i have noticed that the stocks look good but then once they warm u, they fade to a bright white with no blue. anyway, what im looking for are bulbs that have that bright blue look. please help me out. RX

Re: bluer headlights please!

Ok, ok! So let me get this straight, your looking for an HID bulb for our main headlight's right, or fog lights? I just ordered 8000k D2r bulbs that are required for our cars for a great price on ebay, usually its over $200 and this guy gave me a warranty and everything, its a plug and play process! The color is a bright, deep blue, not a cheap looking aqua blue, PM me or IM me if you want any more info!

Re: bluer headlights please!

ahh yes thanks for the reply finally help on G35 Driver.com thought i was going to have to go to the others out there. anyway, yes im looking for an easy "plug and play" system preferably the bulb itself only and i want tthem to look like real HID which our cars really are not and in no way do i want the cheap blueish tint $30 siht bulbs. so i guess my question is what K do i need? do you have picks as to what the number resemble as far a color for example 7000K 8000K etc? and how much? as well as how the fit is? and i would like to do it to both the headlight and fog light. thanks again for the help. RX

Re: bluer headlights please!

Ok ok, check it out! Now our stock HID bulbs are D2R bulbs for our reflector headlight housings, we have the HID kit (Ballasts and w/e) in the top main headlight, the bottom fog light is non HID and an H4 bulb! Ok so check these pictures out, these are 2 pics of the Philip's 6000k (4300k stock) bulbs, it gives more of a purple/blue hue and white light, no yellowish tint, 8000k is a deep, royal ice blue which is what i got, i should have them in this weekend and i'll take pics for yout o see, then you can make your choice! Note, light efficiency and output will be dimmer or less bright then stock, but not by much. Now here are 2 pics of (Coldfusions) car which was another thread a few more down, you should check that out also, alot of helpfull info!

After seeign these pics i find that light output and color is great, i love the looks and now i am maybe regrettign getting the 8000k, i hope they arent way too blue! But anyway i got them off ebay from a cool distributor, he said i can exahcnge and have a 1 year warranty on the bulbs, they should last up to 4 years under normal use he said, these bulbs are just plugged in and replacing the main D2R HID bulb.

Now for the bottom foglight, you are going to need a full HID kit replacement because the foglight isnt HID, fromt he same guy he sells kits and should cost up to $400! Hope this helped, i'll keep you updated.. Martin

Re: bluer headlights please!

Marty, drop me a line when you install the 8000k bulbs. I am contemplating upgrading to those to match my car, but afraid they might be too blue based on some pics I have seen. I would love to stop by and check them out in person.
