Aftermarket Nismo Bumper too flexible?

So I have a Nismo replica poly bumper. I already got it repainted after the paint started cracking... and it's happenig again. The shop said that it is due to the extra flexible poly that the aftermarket bumper is made of

Is this true, or is this just due to poor paint quality?? Anyone else have a similar problem? How did you resolve it?

Poly urethane bumpers are ment to be painted with flexible paint and primer. The paint is "suppose" to flex up to about 60 degrees.

make sure your shop is doing that.

yea sounds like your shop is not putting in "flex additive" when they spray the car, this allows the paint to flex and not dry to be rock hard and flake off.

it's understandable though, most body shops suck, it's extremely hard to find a good reputable shop

I had the same problem with my nismo, and it's being repainted again for free, but my shop said they can't do it again if it happens again. I think they are just sucky painters

what about "spiderweb" looking defects in the paint.. it looks like a whole spider web, about 2 inch in diameter

Ask them to use flexible paint and primer
