Strafe Automotive nismo front bumper

Has anybody bought the replica nismo front bumper from Strafe Automotive? My body shop almost doesn't even want to touch it, in fear that I won't be happy with it once he's done. He told me the bumper is a mess and will take a lot of work to do it right and to fit it. The shop is a friend of my best friend so he said he's giving me a little bit of a better price, but he's quoting me $800 to prep and paint this bumper. That sounds ridiculous to me. He said the bumper is in that rough of shape and claims $800 is fair to sand it, cut out all the holes and paint it. What do you guys think about this? I'm really annoyed by this now and I don't want the bumper. I'd like to hear of anybody's experiences with this bumper. If it fits well and stuff like that. My guy is telling me it's very cheaply made and I won't be happy. He said I should just fix the scrapes on my stock bumper and cut out the mesh. I want the bigger opening for my JWT intercoolers. HELP!!!!? What do you guys think about this?

we have NEVER had any issues w/the nismo poly fronts we sell.. local shops to use will charge 350-400 for prep/paint work & drilling of mounting holes...

Post pics of a test fit to show what is off. Also try another shop, $800 is pretty extreme.

I don't have it on the car yet. The shop took it out of the box and said the bumper is a mess. He's telling me I'm going to give myself more headaches than enjoyment with the bumper. Okay, the pictures look nice. I'll take it to another shop and see what they say.

He didn't say it doesn't fit, he just warned me saying from the looks of it, the prepping of it will take a long time and then he said aftermarket bumpers never fit right so he will have to play with it. I'm in Westchester, NY. Can you recommend any shops in NY that can match ivory pearl? That's another thing, I've seen this guys paint job and he's very good. I don't want to bring it to another shop and have a different color bumper. Any good shops in NY that you guys can recommend?

if you want an accurate color match, the only way for 100% match is to have whichever shop doing the work blend the surrounding panels of the part you are painting.

+1000, go to a different shop something seems off here. He needs to test fit it first to determine how much, if any, prep is needed.

My shop said $400 would be to redo my stock bumper, fixing the scratches and painting it. So nobody can recommend any good shops in NY? The only people responding to my thread are the ones who sold me the bumper. lol Shocker.

I responded and I didn't sell you the bumper. It would definitely be worth taking to another shop to get a second opinion.

I'll bring it to another shop and I will certainly apologize and post my good experience if things work out. I did jump the gun, and I apologize to Dustin for sounding negative about the bumper he sells before a shop actually worked on it. I spoke out of anger because the shop made me feel like I was taken for a ride. That wasn't right. Again, if anybody can help me out and recommend a shop in NY, that would be great. I'll keep you guys posted on how it comes out.
