24 5mm LEDs in clear side marker/turn signal!

I just recently did the side marker modification which is now a turn signal BUT I did not do it the way most guys here have done...I did it the CORRECT WAY with a couple of relays. I also opened up my clear side marker/turn signal and installed 24 LEDS, it looks amazing! pictures and video coming tomorrow 1/17/05

4.1 MB? Dude, some sympathy for those of us stuck with dial-up. The 1MB file looked good though.

Looks great. From a distance (20-50ft) do the LED's show up as individual lights, or a bright glow from the side marker? Might get ticketed though. Those LED's are so bright they HAVE to draw attention.

Does your setup keep the stock plug so you can swap in and out?

Sorry about the size and sorry you can't view the video because it would answer your question. Yes from a distance it's almost like one solid glow...you can make out each individual LED tho' kinda like the rear when the break lights are on. I thought about tickets too but so far so good!

I was able to view the turnsignal2 file. Just not enough patience for the big file.

I know, no cable in my 'hood. No pizza delivery, propane tank in the back yard, septic tank in the front yard.

DSL is $59.99 a month. I can surf at work for free!

nice looking mod....

thanks for documenting it so thoroughly for us. pictures (videos) are worth 1000 words.

now how about showing us non-electrical folks how to wire the turn signal mod the right way?

Ok, after reading post here about how guys wired their front turn signal to their side marker I said this can't be right...in the earlier post we all were instructed to cut the black wire coming from the side marker connect it to the green/white wire on the left or right side, can't remember which side but it doesn’t matter because on my G the green white wire is a positive wire... it just didn't seem right for some reason I also read a few post where guys experienced some strange electrical issues after this mod. I used 5 pin relays when I modifies my side markers therefore power draw on the signal bulb is non existent see my diagram... http://24.90.121.63/TurnSignal.html

Hello all I'll try to find a location where I can have my links hosted...I originally had the links running from a web server running on my laptop...as you all know laptops are built for portability therefore up and away. Maybe g35driver.com could accommodate in some way ;o)

From: Trolling a forum near u.... (T.O.)
what did u use for the rear turn signals? i found this:
http://superlumination.com/7443_7440.htm
i was thinking about the red 7440 (1/5 down page)... is it as easy as plugging it in (aka just swap the old for new)? or do u have to buy that load equalizer gizmo? any comments would be much appreciated. could u tell us what u used? also... is it better to get red led's or white one's? sorry for all the q's... thanks in advance.

-regards.
