I'm calling false info on this. Not that OP is lying, but the dealer that told him that is wrong. There's no way they'd discontinue this part that fits on a 5 year old vehicle. UNLESS they have mass stock somewhere but that's still not likely.

Hell, my dealer wanted 1400/side to start with so unless mynismo or any of these other guys stop selling <$600, I don't believe it.

I didn't know that, but I think we should all make calls tomorrow to our dealers and see if anyone else gets this information as well before we all panic haha.

I dont see a successful installation with 3/4 tabs sawed off. Also, 3/4 are entirely covered by the bumper itself. Heck you cant even really see them, much less get a sawsall under there without cutting a hole in the bumper. Like I said, not impossible, just very very difficult.

Allow me to clarify what he was saying. The mass quantity of bixenon headlights that were recalled, due to the beams being aimed too high, were reaimed and resold at a lower cost. Now, the stock of these headlights have been depleted, and the cost will be higher. If the headlights were discontinued, how would there be a price on them? Lol.

Even though he still could have been misinformed. Ie. Look at the confusing info in his post. Not saying op is bad or anything but there could be a chance he got some info wrong.

Hope op comes back to the thread n gives more insight.

Well any of our dealership vendors can chime in and comment on the validity of this.

I thought the recalled headlights were supposed to be destroyed by the dealer??

Maybe. I'm not sure about the official process. I do know it was merely a aiming problem. From what's been implied in this thread is they were fixed and resold.

^was an aiming issue but wasnt an easy fix ( involved making adjustments inside the projectors) thus they jus replaced it.

The lights are still made, only the KIT that includes BOTH LH and RH is discontinued, and alas, the pricing is different. You can still buy the lights...

^thats kinda retarded...not u but from infiniti. wats the point of that?

*i always thought when dealers sold the lights as a pair it was just something they put together themselves. like when u see cam sensors for sale. u can buy jus one or the dealers usually have both for sales available at a discount

Correct, also by the recall specifics the techs were SUPPOSED to drill holes into the lights to effectively "break" them when they threw them out. If a dealer got caught by Infiniti re-selling the take off lights they would get into a lot of trouble.

For those of you wanting to call your local dealers, haha, MOST dealers didn't even know that there was a recall set available. I was at OC Infiniti getting some service done when they found out and we dealer checked all over no warehouse has any left , Period. You MIGHT get lucky finding a dealer who has it but I know OC does.

THe dealerships will find out that the part number "service files" , which basically means it gives the parts dept instructions for supplement parts to offer instead of the recall kit. The part numbers given are the standard part numbers for the light individually LH / RH. NO recall pair kits left.

Sorry for the confusion I typed it up quickly and I cannot adjust the title. But these lights were known to some people by calling them one thing and others knew these by different terms lol
