This is probably just going to be an interim solution while my side mirrors get repainted. I've had a huge problem with the clearcoat disappearing on the side mirrors:

So I picked up some used black side mirrors to put on while my OEM mirrors get repainted. I got some aftermarket ones for a good deal, but there's a few minor differences that make me sure I'll want my original ones back.

So here's the before/after shots (tripod and enclosed garage make for a near perfect comparison):

Front (half changed, both changed):

So all in all, it doesn't look bad or really out of place at all, but I do want the lakeshore slates repainted and back on, since the aftermarket ones do not have the rubber strip along the top edge that I assume is there to keep moisture and dirt out better, there's also a "defrost" symbol on the driver's side that I'd rather not see.

Yeah, it's not bad, but the aftermarket ones are definitely inferior to the stock ones. I was surprised how loud the motor was when adjusting position, and they don't seem to adjust out quite as far, which wouldn't matter to how most people adjust their mirrors, but since I do mine the RIGHT way, covering blind spots, it matters.

The matte black mirror mounts aren't quite as black as stock either, even after copious applications of back-to-black.

If these were factory black mirrors, I may keep it, but since I am repainting my stock ones, I'll go back to stock color.
