Powdercoating Stock Wheels
Which shop did you get it done at? Is it the one in Santa Ana? I'm still a little leery about getting mine done because of all the discussion about the baking/drying process possibly ruining the integrity of forged wheels.

Are you talking about Olympic? They were my second choice. I went to AmeriCoat on Collins and Batavia in Orange. Rich runs the shop there and he's a super legit guy and my wheels came out perfect. It's worth talking to him about your concerns.
Cool...did they do everything for you? Meaning taking off the tires and re-installing it etc.? Their prices are competitive like others.
Well I brought him wheels I had just bought from another user on here with no tires or TPMS. Not sure if he'll take your tires off or not. You'd probably want to give him a buzz on that.
What exactly was the procedure? Did the tires have to be removed? Did you have to remove the wheels?
Tires need to be removed prior to powder coating. The wheel will get chemically stripped of all paint/dirt/grime, prepped for PC, and then get coated. From there it will be put into an oven where the powder will cure, and then allowed time to cool. Some powder coat finishes have multiple stages, so the process could require the coater to put them in the oven a few times. After that you'll have a finished set of wheels.
Some places here in England will do a same day service, but I think you have to pay a little extra.
