Day 1 .....
Dad tried to wake me up at 9:00AM to start on my GReddy front bumper, Side skirts, and Kenstyle rear bumper. Finally around 9:45 I got up and went into the garage and we went to work.
Starting with the front bumper we took off the grill, jacked her up, then unscrewed 50 bolts underneath. We took off the front wheels, front fenderwells, and took out the orange lights on the side of the stock bumper. Once it was off we put it to the side and installed the lights into the GReddy along with the stock grill and placed it against the front of the car. There are some alinement issues I'll have to let the body shop deal with.
--Passanger side where the bumper meets the fender [right above the orange side light] there is alittle more gap than I would like.
--Driver side under the headlight there is more of a gap then I want.
Overall the front bumper fits great and looks great...even though it's still the fiberglass cream white color on my DG coupe.
We take a break for lunch and its already around 1:30PM. We finish eating and while we still have the fenderwells off we decide to go get a new air filter for the AEM CAI - along with some stuff to clean the old one.
We come back to start on the GReddy side skirts. I'll start off by saying, if I never see or install another GReddy side skirt on a G35Coupe I will be more than happy. I began to get pissed off at these things.
--I could not figure out how to get the stock side skirts off, had everything in the world plus some unscrewed, and unpopped. Finally was able to get ahold of some diagrams that just said to pull it off....I did this which broke every single tooth, hole, bracket, etc., in the stock side skirt.
--Then I couldn't figure out how to get the stock white/clear bracket things out of the square holes - half of them fell off down under the kick plate...I hope they don't roll and rattle in there....cuzz there is no way to get them out.
--The instructions, which are in japanese, don't tell you have to take off a rubber like deal in the back, infront of the back tires to make the side skirt fit...OK, I took those off and they fit pretty good.
The side skirt [notice singular] took me nearly as long as the entire front bumper did. It is now 4:00PM and the car has a single side skirt on and the front bumper. I don't plan to be a ricer and drive around with a half-assed body kit on my car...I don't care to flaunt the unpainted fiberglass..maybe if my car was white. The car goes in Monday to have to the work down and the body shop wanted us to go ahead and put the kit on to take care of as many fitting issues as I could and also save on some costs. They will take the kit off, paint it, and put it back on for me. They said they will have the car for 3 or 4 days...my 19'' Ro_Ja rims should be in by that Friday or the following Monday so I will have to have a badass body kit and stock 17'' rims for the weekend - bleh.
I didn't get any pictures today except one which I will post in this thread seperatly. Overall it was a stressful day, lol - but will be well worth it...does anyone have any tips for taking off the rear bumper?
Thanks! I'll make another post and try to take more pictures tomorrow of the progress...

Rear passanger side - where kit meets fender under gas cap.

Where kit meets side of bumper by passanger tail light.

Trunk open - where kit curves up under rubber form and by passanger tail light.

Height of GReddy front bumper - comes out to about 4.75 inches

Height of Kenstyle rear bumper - Alittle better than 8 inches - gets higher as it goes back.

Trying to show how well the two kits line up. You can see about a 3'' difference but its nothing that looks out of place - the wheel breaks it up just fine.
Kits fit like stock. I'd like to say better then stock but there are some minor minor gaps that need to be looked at. Nothing noticable to anyone I've mentioned them to so far...but then again I'm a perfectionist, I put the kit on, and I know they are there so they will be fixed.
I've been pushed back alittle bit and the car should have the kit painted and rims on by the 28th!
should look good - can't wait to see the completed pics!
my car is going to be finished at lunch tomorrow - Nismo front bumper with custom painted black intake ducts, UT GTR grille, SpoilerDepot Lip Spoiler, and custom painted black rear diffuser area... I drove by the body shop and my bumper was on a hanger letting the paint dry and it looked s-i-c-k... the rear bumper was also complete (and on the car) and looked very nice as well - looked like an aftermarket piece!

Yup, I was in the garage mashed up against the other car trying to get as far back as I could - I'll pull the car out tomorrow and get that pic for you.
