Window motor missing reset switch?
Window motor missing reset switch?
Hey guys my window is doing the classic 'up to the top and then back down 1/4 of the way' due to the anti pinch feature. Obviously it needs to be reset so when I took the panel off to reveal the motor, there is no reset switch to be found. The motor is apparently not the original as the guy I bought it off of said he had it replaced. Attached below is a few pics of what I'm talking about. Any advice on what to do from here would be much appreciated. I've just never seen a window motor lacking a reset switch before whether it's an original from infiniti or otherwise...

can you take a pic of the otherside. i think the reset button is on the other side. it is on the side that bolts to the metal plate. when i had to reset my window motor. i took the plastic door panel off then there was a little black sticker that covered the reset button,
that may make some sense since I can see the plastic gears moving through the hole where the switch should be. I'm going to try to stick something in the hole against the gears to see if the reset switch it friction based and maybe it'll work. I'll let you know.
Alright so here's what I just did. I noticed a pin on one of the gears inside the reset switch hole. I took a needle nose pliers and grabbed the pin as I performed the window reset procedure and it actually kinda worked. The window started dropping again a little while opening the door and going back up slightly when closing the door. It's not dropping as much as the passenger door so could that just be a lubrication issue? thanks for the help.
one thing i learned is with aftermarket motors its not gonna drop the same length. so long it drops like it should thats all that matters. maybe oem motors are more consistent with the drop amount idk. as for the missing button its jus a rubber gromment thing that stops the white part from turning when the button is pushed against it. so jus reenact the button being pushed by using a pen or eraser head. or anything jus to prevent it from turning and should be good.
