Has anyone successfully used 05-06 jdm ac controls on an 03-04?

I am fabbing an iPad into the dash so modding the dash to fit the controls won't be a problem. I know the 03-04 controls have the bezel going around the buttons vs the 05-06 which don't.

Just trying to see if anyone has done the wiring for the rotary ****. Can't stand having to mash the stupid buttons on the 03-04.
