D2S does not cause any damage. D2R are reflector Xenons (our car, Escalade, G35 Sedan, etc.). D2S are projector Xenons where it looks like a crystal ball (BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's). Reflector Xenons use the light housing to create the beam pattern. Projector Xenons harness the light and project it as a controlled beam. The difference between D2R and D2S Xenon bulbs is that D2R bulbs have a little strip of this black tape underneath the bulb (so it covers part of the bulb) to minimize glare for on-coming drivers. That is literally the only difference, simply the tape strip. So the answer is yes, you can convert a D2S bulb to act like a D2R bulb very easily.

3 coats of Zaino Z-2 Pro.
Pioneer AVIC-D1 with 05 double din conversion.
Rockford Fosgate 5002 amp.
I know I dont have any trunk space, but I never use my trunk anyway's.
I didn't want anything permanent and incase of a flat tire, so it was made to be easily removed.
Used factory XM antenna with Pioneer tuner.
