but did you wrap tape or something around the shifter (what ever you want to call it when it has no shift **** on it) or what because with nothing on its just to loose. I tried to wrap duck tape around it and then use an allen wrench and screw the screws into the tape but after a week or so the tape melts and its all lose again. WHAT DO I DO?

I didn't have to wrap anything around the shaft. The **** has two set screws, if I remember correctly. Do you have both screws?

That actually looks pretty cool but seems like a pain to actually install dont you think? Plus if I ever got the car serviced they'd have a mess of a time putting that car into gear or anyone else for that matter driving the car.

There have been some people with auto G's that installed the shift boot on their shifter. Seems kinda silly to me. But to each their own, right?

That's your problem. You need those set screws to keep the **** in place. I just checked mine again and you should have three set screws.

Absolutely not! In fact I just came back from the hardware store and I found a match. I even bought them ($.42). I can send them to you or if you have an Orchard Supply Hardware close I can give you the exact specs on what to buy. I test fit them and everything.

truplay8, if you want me just to send the ones I have I don't mind putting them in the mail for you. Just PM me your address or email me skeletoncru@sbcglobal.net If not here is what the package looks like. You will also need a 3/32 hex wrench.
