Rear Bumper replacement?
Since you guys are always so helpful, can you let me know what other full bumper replacement is out there besides the impul rear bumper? and where to get it? Thanks!!!
For those of you interested in why I need to replace my bumper, please read the following. Otherwise, excuse my windedness.
It was a pretty bad experience at a Nissan body shop. My rear bumper got a big dent in it, so I went to find a place to replace it. Like an idiot, I shopped around for the cheapest price. I came across one, but it was a Nissan dealer. As naive as I was, I thought "what the heck, it's the company Infiniti is under," so I went with them. In addition, I asked for a passive alarm to be installed. I was told that it would be done in 3 days. I went back in 3 days and they weren't done. NOT suprising. I went back a couple of days later, and I found that the bumper had minor paint chippings on it. Since I paid nearly 800, I am definitely going to ask for a repaint. I went back in a week, and found out they were still not done. This time I pressed for an answer, and I found out more bad news. They said that while they were doing the passive alarm, they messed up the "immobilizer." They claimed that the immobilizer started the car. I tried to confirm this with other Infiniti service people, and they said the part doesn't even exist in the car or they weren't sure what it did. I told them to leave the alarm alone, but they claimed that they started on it. I actually walked past the alarm guy and saw that he didn't even start! They wanted me to pay for the alarm, but I refused. At the end of 3 long weeks of bitching and complaining over the phone and in person, they said everything was done. I looked at the bumper for any paint chipings, but I didn't find any major ones. I was glad this mess was over. At that time, I couldn't see the paint difference because it was parked in the sun. After a day, I noticed the paint didn't match my car and it was misaligned. Since they gave me so much trouble, I decided to take it to another place. They said to get everything perfect it would be 500 extra. I told them to only fix the alignment. I was gyped 200. I thought I could make the Nissan Shop to pay for the cost, but after consulting with the police, they told me to go to a lawyer. To this day, I still haven't done anything about this problem. I am such a *$#!ing procrastinator. As a side note, NEVER go to the Nissan at 65th and 6th in Brooklyn, ny for anything!
by the way, I consulted the Nissan Consumer Affairs and Infiniti's, and it was NO help....
Any lawyers that could help? There must be someone...please help me...those nissan guys need to be taught a lesson.
