"Clear bra" is a film that is applied over the paint as a protectant against rock chips, bugs, etc. Some people describe it as "saran wrapping" the front end of a car (but much thicker). It is normally applied to the front bumper, 1/3 hood, mirrors, etc.

Check out this site for more information: http://www.clearbra.net/

I, as well as many other G owners, HIGHLY recommend having this applied. One of the best investments I have ever made on a vehicle.

Good Luck!

go with the clear bra

i strongly suggest getting the clear bra, there are too many issues with the old black bras, forget the fact they look ugly...thats a no brainer.

you have to worry about taking it on and off, you cant leave it on there damp. you might have issues with fading from the sun. potential scratches from taking it on and off. on a car of this nature you want it looking as sporty as possible, when i think of those old bras its just seems so tacky when there are other options.

the clear bra is great, there are different brands and different kits as well, depending on what you want to protect (i.e i have some on the inside of my door handles too). do some searches to find the best one.

it is noticable if you are looking for it but not distracting at all, i have to tell most people its there. you can wax it and wash it just like the paint. it wont fade differently and it works well. i like the fact that i can wash the bugs off without worrying about tiny scratches from rubbing the damn things off.

it was the best 600 dollars i spent, you wont regret it at all, dont make your car look tacky with the old bras.

if you are looking to save money and go for the older one then i would only put it on for long highway drives, otherwise you can keep it off.

Clear bras are only as good as the installation quality and quality of the film. A good installer can make the film seem nearly invisible. It's definitely a lot better than those ugly leather bras IMO.

personally, I don't like leather bras.......even the color-matched bras by Speed Lingerie, which costs about $500.....pretty close to the price of a clear bra. Many people claim that clear bras are too noticeable and would rather go w/ something like Speed Lingerie's color-matched leather bras, which again, in my opinion, looks horrible........here's a pic of it on a C6 and pics of a F355 we recently wrapped w/ a custom front bumper, hood, headlamp backs, mirrors, full rockers, and other nick nack areas w/ wrapped edges for a more seamless look
