My cost for my body work.. what do you think
well this is what its gonna cost to get my car done! just thought i would let you guys get an idea since ive seen alot of posts asking. It all depends on how well the fitment goes i guess.
"received the parts and your car today (4-22-05). We wanted to keep you intune to the possible cost of the alterations to your vehicle. As for instance, if you were to bring your vehicle to our shop, a factory front and rear cover and the side skirts needing repair and filling in the nameplate inserts, the cost of paint and installation would cost around $1400.00. The body kit you have provided is fiberglass as you know, causing proper fitting of these parts to be quite time consuming. It involves trial and error method, removing and installing the pieces until a proper fit is attained. Once an acceptable fit is achieved, addressing the imperfections on the actual parts (mold castings) is another issue. A fair ball park figure would be in the range of $1700.00 for just the body work on the parts figuring at least 40 man hours in fitting, plastic work and additional material costs. This would bring your cost of repairs to the neighborhood of around $3100.00. Just wanted to give you a fair idea before we begin actual repairs."

You are paying more for the blend. BUT man I would hate to have a blend done on a NEW car!!! They would have to blend the rear quarter and front fenders. Tell them to skip the blend and match the paint. Tell them to shoot some test panels until they get it perfect then just shoot the parts.

Not sure if I would allow them to " blend " paint to other parts of car. Man thats a brand new car with new paint. If car was used, maybe then I would blend paint. IP is the toughest paint to match though. I think you should wait till you get back and get other qoutes to compare. You should'nt try to rush anything.
