Actually, per Bulletproof Automotive, the authentic Gialla also has the bar. From another source, it's to prevent someone from breaking through the mesh and opening your hood.

The Gialla grill does have the bar in the center, and it's there to support. We didn't know this in the beginning and made the grill within the bar and had a little gap on the top of the grill. The shape of the grill is very hard for most flexible materials to stay in that shape, which is why the bar is there. Anyhow, the bar car be painted black and it won't be visible.

yeah also wanted to know how much does it cost to get the grill painted? and how long will it take? do i need to leave my car there for them to match my paint perfectly or can i just leave the grill with them and pick it up later?

Also is the grill easy to put on yourself?

Our customers have told us that they have paid anywhere from $70 to $250 to get the grill painted. So make sure you shop around and don't overpay for the paint job.

well I'll give a huge thumbs down on the UTR grill if anyone is considering that route....The backside of the grill didn't get enough material and was splitting apart, and the things that hold the mesh in place looked like paper clips and they started to fall off the grill.....

The body shop I have used for years was like....your car is too nice to put this POS on it. Buy a better one, or return it for a different one.

Vendor I bought it from is giving a full refund, but damn thats some ****ty quality control. I will be going with gialla after this nightmare. I just wouldn't want to order a silvia parts one and have even MORE issues with that one. rather do it right the first time.
