Painting Interior Leds

I am painting my leds behind the console a deep red. This should give me a simple red glow like the Audi. However, what paint should I use. A custom shop told me that they do this, but he just said go get some paint from a hobby shop. Has anyone painted them red? IF so help!
Thanks.

Replacing them with red LEDs causes hotspots sometimes, I'm planning on doing what you want to do rev, let me know if you find anything out. BTW how much did the shop say theyd charge for something like that?

noo.. they wont' create hot spots. at least not for the smds in the center console since its already LEds in there!!

as for the odometer, we change out the leds and put some film in it to spread the light...... helps alot.. we just did Gee3Five's car on sunday.. he was pleased with our work...
