PHILIPS 6000K ULTINON XENON? Yes or no?

Hi,
I was thinking about upgrading my stock HID xenons to the PHILIPS 6000K ULTINON XENON bulbs. I have a couple newbie questions. Is the bulb replacement bulb a D2R? Are there any modifications needed to upgrade the bulb or is it a direct plug in and out fit? How easy or hard is it to replace the bulb? Any other feedback on other aftermarket bulbs are welcome. Thanks

i believe they are d2r and they are simple swap bulbs.. not sure if they'll look like audis or beamers or whatever because dont they use projectors?

It will give you a slight bluish tint, which will look alot nicer. BMW and Audi's all use projectors. They project the light and spread it evenly and have a cut-off/horizon. In this cut off, the light scatters a bit and the light colors seperate. Blue is the most noticeable in the light spectrum, and thats what we see in these HID projectors... even though they use about the same HID color temp as G35s (4300k). With a 6000k bulb, it will have the bluish tint that looks close to the blue color in the projector's cut off. Theres no way to have the exact same color, look, and effect as projectors with out actually using projectors.

Yes, its a D2R bulb. Yes, its just a plug and play installation, just swap the bulbs and you're done. The install takes a little bit of time though, its easier if you have a lift, you have to pull back the fender lining to change the bulbs.

I like the Philips bulbs, but they were really pricey. I got some McCulloch 6000K bulbs for half the cost of Philips.

Is this a full HID kit? Or are these just bulbs for the oem xenon system?
