My bat overlays should be coming in any day now--I have known people who have done the install themselves and some who have taken it to a pro tint shop to do (cost ~ 30 bucks or so)....

I am curious to hear from your experience how difficult of an install it is--and whether or not it is worth it to have a tint shop do it (THE RESULT may be better?)

Plz advise

Thanks--btw, they are the GTR2 taillight overlays

Dennis...tint Zone In Rowland Heights Will Do It For About $20 For Each Pair. Not Worth Your Time To Do Yourself. It Is Like Putting Tint On Windows

Definitely have someone experienced apply... but if you do decide to give it a try, make sure you use plenty of soapy water (under the film) in order to slide into position. Be sure to smooth out the film entirely with no air bubbles (which is difficult even for someone experienced). Use a heat gun or hair dryer to set and evaporate moisture under film. If you end up with a few tiny bubbles (which you probably will even if a pro installs), you can pop them with a syringe and heat to seal... after a few days the edges may be raised in a few areas (again, even if a pro installs), take a lighter and briefly heat up the edge and smooth down with credit card.

Hope this helps - good luck
