I was considering buying the aero kit and adding it to my G. It looks pretty easy to install the side sills and rear bumper lower lip. Has anyone got any idea on the front bumper replacement and how difficult it is? Any instructions?

 

I think once you had the new bumper in hand, the removal/install would be easy, just make sure you have a second set of hands

 

Has anyone ever done business with infinitiparts.net? They seem to have the kit in stock.

 

I have - no problems just that alot of the G35 extras like spash guards are on back order because the G is still a fairly new model.

 

Actually spoke with the guys at infinitipartsusa.com (Phoenix, AZ) and they gave me prices lower than on the web and that the ivory pearl (QX1) parts were in stock. He also said that if they sell it, you can read, and have a fair amount of mechanical ability -- you'd be able to install it following the instructions. I plan on calling infinitiparts.net guys next week to see what they say -- I may ask for a fax of the front bumper cover install instructions.

 

I pulled my front fascia and side skirts today. Very simple. Front fascia has 6 push pins on top (4 in the grill and 2 on sides). Lower has 10 phillips screws with hex heads so you can use a socket probably 10mm. You can remove the front inner splash guards for easier access because the 3 push pins going in the fascia have to be removed anyway. Then there is 2 phillips/hex right behind the side marker on each side and the cover will slide right off.

I am sending my front and rear fascias and side skirts out to have the lowers painted to match the body.

 

Can you order the front bumper cover with the factory paint finish?

 

Yes, the aero kit front bumper cover comes prepainted from the factory (Infiniti factory?) according to both infinitipartsusa.com and infinitparts.net.

According to the two dealers I spoke with, it is also prepainted if you get it from them.

 

Great idea! This was discussed here (or on FA) a couple of weeks ago and some Photoshopped pictures were posted somewhere...

How much is is costing you to get the 4 items painted? and keep us posted on how it looks... I may end up dong the same... I'd hate to pay $2500 to mess up the awesome aerodynamics the G comes with.

 

The cost is $400. This includes painting the full side sills and rear extensions and clearing, along with painting the lower front and rear fascias and clearing the entire fascias. Should be done by the weekend and I will let you know how it turns out.

The side sills are mounted over the diffusers. One of the two screws mounting the diffuser is also a fastener for the side sill. Remove this one screw and the sill will slide out over the diffuser
