Key Hole Modification
In the past on my BMW 330ci i had problems with a theif breaking into the car by pulling out the driverside door lock...I soon fixed this problem by taking out the lock and replacing it with a solid cover i ordered (passenger side cover/handle from right handed vehicle over seas)...a easy 10 minute job (easy on a bmw) that saves a lot of problems!!!
I had a friend that just had his G broken into by the same method, and others on this site have had the same problem. Some suggested just getting the passenger side "lock cover" for the driverside, but that still leaves the cylinder behind the cover and the theif can pull that off? (i am assuming this) Are there any solid pieces where it is not easy to pull off the cover? ? Or has anyone actually replaced the door handle with the Japanese Market Version (Passenger side handle for Right handed cars)?? If someone knows where to get this piece fill me in...I didn't see any info for it in the search...Could have missed it.....

try this diy on fresh alloy
All part numbers are listed for you. Just go to an Infiniti dealer with the part number. They probably wont know what the hell you are ordering, but the part is called an "escutcheon".

Too bad it can still be popped off
, but I'll order the part from Infiniti today.
Fresh alloy pics are all RED X. Can someone confirm that it just pops off. If so i dont mind just poping on the cover. At least it will make it look like i have no lock there, Yet if i do lock myself out and i have no remote i can still get in.
it is very easy to did, i did mine way back when. Pop off the black plug on the door, back the screw out then CAREFULLY pry the oem cover off.

Is the lock cylinder taken out? and the cover can't be taken off unless u open the door and unscrew it? or can a thief just pull it off?

escrutcheon
I did mine a while back too. It only pops off after you remove the cover on the inside of the door, then take an allen wrench to unscrew it. Previously there was an extensive write up on this subject on this site. It gave a few options to consider. Regards.
