I bought a used 2004 coupe and there that ugly open lighter plug on the right.

Does the car was sold with a black plug to go there?

In one of my older car I had a "no smoking" plug to fit there, I cannot find it anymore.

 

Yep, there's a plug, goto a dealer and order it. Can't be more than a few bucks.
