I hope you have better luck with them then I did...Hahn made me wait more than a month for a kit that "got lost in shipping from Japan"....I ended up getting my money back after waiting all that time.

Hello,

Can you be a little more specific please? There are countless threads (providing examples) on this board about our excellent customer service. If you would please elaborate on your experience, so that we can have a fair chance at explaining what happened, that would be wonderful. Thanks!

I'm not saying you guys are a bad company, I'm sure you guys are great.

I am just speaking from my personal experience, this was about 2 years ago, I believe.

I paid for a Gialla Corsa kit for the Sedan. My car was held up in the body shop for a month waiting on the kit...I figured because I had to have some work done...I could buy a body kit and save on installation costs.

After waiting one month and a half or so in the shop for the kit to come from Japan..it never did come or was lost, so I got my money back. I needed my car back so I had the body shop complete the work.

I called Hahn almost every day to ask about the kit, and I was always getting the run around and not always able to reach him.

I was never offered any compensation for the BS I had to go through for a kit I never got...but hey it's no biggie I guess.

The body pieces that I've ordered from Japan have taken a minimum of 2 months and closer to 3-4 months... ...but perhaps that's just because it was another vendor. But I still can't say that I've seen special order times of only 6 weeks advertised anywhere. If such an amount of time was needed for your kit, then yes, there would simply be a lack of answers for you if you called almost daily within the first month. I've just forgotten about the parts for a couple of months to make the wait easier.

FWIW, I think most people would expect a long wait for special orders from Japan. They seem to be synonymous with each other. Even if told it would only take a month (doubt it), it's just not reasonable to expect such a short delivery time... ...unless they just happened to have those parts already in the delivery process.

Your follow-up post indicates that perhaps the kit wasn't lost, but rather never arrived. At 1.5 months, I'd say the latter is more likely... ...and expected. After waiting nearly 3 months for one of my parts, it arrived and I found it to be the wrong part. Sucks, but all I can do is wait for the proper part to arrive. That's the name of the game when you're talking about special order items from Japan.

This is true Ron...this is very true...I agree with everything you said.

I had no idea it took so long to get items from Japan at that time....

However, at that time "Hahn" put me under the impression that I would recieve it realistically in about a month. He knew my car was waiting in the shop missing the front bumper and he just kept pulling my chain, until I decided to pull the plug.

Any response from IM Motorsports would be nice? You guys want to chime in?

Hello,

Your order took place before I was the Sales Manager, so I cannot speak about your issue from a personal viewpoint. I will tell you this, however: We apologize for whatever misunderstanding there was in the relaying of ETA. As the Sales Manager, on special order items, I advise all customers (and so does my entire sales staff) that it can take 90-180 days for delivery. Also, the customer is told up front, that it is out of our hands. Therefore, if it takes longer, there is nothing that we can do about it. I will tell you point blank, that, once you place the order, I will have no way of knowing ETA. It's up to you if you would like to place the order, given those terms. I will also tell you that, I would rather not have 1 cent of your money if you do not understand and accept these terms. It's not worth it to me to make 5-10% on an order where I'm going to have 50 conversations with a customer that doesn't understand the nature of "special orders". Now, this is not being rude, but rather, this exemplifies the highest level of customer service: honesty.

That's how we treat special orders here now. Again, I cannot speak personally about your order, as I was not here at the time you placed it. Since May '04, however, if you place a special order with us, you will get the above shpeel. I will actually beat it into my customers that we have no control over eta, but 90-180 days is as good as it gets. It's not our fault if it's late, as we do not manufacture it ourselves. Alot of other companies will B.S. you about ETA to get you to buy, but again, I would rather not take your order at all if you don't understand the terms. Han is a very very honest individual. Whatever happened between you and him, I can guarantee you that he was not trying to mislead you. This company has been in business since 1999. That's an eternity for a company in this industry.

I hope this clears things up about how we do business. Given our current status (G35driver vendor since late last year) of excellent, I hope that you would consider us again for future purchases. Again, my apologies for whatever miscommunication transpired during the course of your order. Thanks.
