I was driving down the freeway this morning and a piece of debris jumped out from the car in front of me and I didn't have any time to react to avoid it. The debris looked like a piece of wood with some metal on it. The debris hit scratched my hood and cracked my windsheild pretty bad. The impact scared me half to death.

I was wondering if I could file a claim against caltrans for not properly cleaning our transportation system? Should I make a claim on my insurance or just pay for the repair out of pocket? Would anyone recommend a place that can change my windsheild for me? I am in the Chino Hills/Diamond Bar area by open to commuting for a good deal. Approximately how much am I down the drain? Should I get it done at the dealer? Does anyone know how I can find a windshielf off of a totaled? Does anyone know somebody that is selling a windshielf?

BTW, I drive a 04 G35Coupe
