Hood Light

Hi everyone - I'm new to all this, but I was wondering..

Does anyone know why there's no hood light? It just seems strange that a car with so much to begin with is missing something so simple as a light under the hood..

+3 I agree...and the fact of the "prop" rod. To get self supporting hood hinges you are looking at like $400 aftermarket upgrade. Hopefully they will change those 2 simple things they left off in a new model yet to come out.

Wouldnt you think the hood would need some extra re-enforcement to use struts to hold the hood open? The hinges are so far back on the hood, you think it would bend without support at the front of the hood. And as far as the hood light, those are usually worthless anyway unless u are just trying to check oil or something.

That's exactly one of the reasons why I'd need one.. the car's brand new right now so I shouldn't have much of a problem but years down the road I could be stuck somewhere at nite trying to look under the hood.. hopefully the batteries in the flashlight I have in the trunk stay working lol..

i remember hearing that this is part of the reason that the car doesn't come with them stock. the aluminum hood can bend if it's only supported at the rear and you try to push it closed against the tension of hood struts. IIRC i read that in one of those threads about the aftermarket hood struts
