Quality of OEM grille??

I've had my 2006 G35 for a little more than a month and I already have 2 rock chips in my grille with 1 of them quite huge. Is the grille that poor of build? I'd like to get my dealer to replace it, but I really doubt it would happen as I am sure they will tell me it is "normal" wear and tear ;p. Here is a pic (had to use use flash due to crapy lighting ;p)

Anyway, I am contemplating getting a Gialla grille or the SP replica with a plastic mesh that wont chip from http://www.customautomesh.com. Any opinions one way or another? The Gialla will likely take 3-4 months to get here and alot more expensive, but it should definitely have a good fit. The SP replica shouldn't take that long to get and is alot cheaper, but I am worried about the fitting. Do the newer SP grilles still have the gap/fitting issue?? Also, what about rock chipping of the non-mesh area - do alot of people get it protected with Clearbra or VentureGuard??
