OEM spoiler installation

I just bought a oem style spoiler. I am going to install it myself cause the dealers wanted $250 to do it. What a joke...
Does anyone know where the 3rd break light wire harness is located in the trunk? any advice on how to install it??

Re: OEM spoiler installation

Did your kit come with a template? It's relatively an easy install, it just scares ppl to see you drilling about 9 big holes on your trunk lid.

As for the 3rd brake light, pretty much all the G35Cs come already pre-wired for a spoiler. Take off the truck lid carpet and you should see a harness connector for it. It took me about an hour to do my install. Best thing to do is make a template first before you start drilling!

Re: OEM spoiler installation

Trunk lid carpet? is that the truck mat that covers the spare tire, or are you talking about the black plastic cover that covers the trunk lid?

Re: OEM spoiler installation

The black felt-ish liner that covers the "roof" of the trunk. Not the trunk lid itself, but the roof of the part of the trunk that's under the rear deck. It's held in place with little black plastic clips and some stick tape. The wiring for the brake lights and rear speakers is hiding behind it.
