Question on fiberglass prep

Sometime next week im dropping off my car to both paint/install authentic greddy front/sides and a replica kenstyle rear. Id like to paint the midsection of the kenstyle black, many people say flat black looks the best? am i right?.... i kinda wanna contrast a little with a more plastic look in the midsection. Also, this being my first bodykit on any car im wondering what should i make sure the painter is gonna use? When i drop them off im obviously gonna explain i want the kit properly sanded down and prepared before painting, should i ask for specific number of coats or should he know what he's doing? also, is there something more than clearcoat that i can ask for more protection?

And lastly, im curious, the replica rear istn exactly even in the liscence plate section and kind of thin on the middle strip almost breaking off, he can reinforce that correct? and thats all supposed to be fixed before painting?

Thanks for feedback and any tips/suggestions i could give my painter
