auto reverse power window issue

Hi, I just got my passenger window broken and it was replaced but the auto power window switch rolls the window up then rolls it back down about half way. Any one has idea of how to fix this . Since the window was replace not sure if warranty will cover.
thanks

I had the same problem. You have a short and the dealer needs to replace either the motor or the board. It's under warrenty fo no worries

Re: auto reverse power window issue

Sounds like the window wasn't calibrated correctly when they installed the new one. When they replace the window they are supposed to compensate for the shift in the window height when the door is opened and closed. If it is calibrated too high the window will think the fully closed position is slightly higher than it really is... if this is the case when the window goes up it will try to go further up than then it should and the safty will cause the window to go down...similar to sticking your arm out the window as it is going up... to prevent people from losing fingers and arms the window will sense something is in the way of its path and retreat back down. If you take it to the dealer and mention the problem to them they can re calibrat the window height. I am not sure what is required in that process... Let us know how things turn out... hope I helped cause that sounds like whats going on. Best of luck!

Thanks it sounds you are on the right track, the guy didn't look like it was a pro, but they come to your house and I needed it right away, I learned my lesson, I should have gone straight to the dealer to replace the window .
