Re: Wood Trim Kit

My dealer told me $750, dealer installed for the wood kit, so not bad, depending on the installlation costs (or lack thereof).

Re: Wood Trim Kit

These are usually glue on panels, so the installation is free. You do it yourself. I've done one in my wifes are, pretty easy.

Re: Wood Trim Kit

Yes it is installed over existing plastic. The glue can be removed, but once a piece is put on and taken off, it is probably ruined. It really is easy, since the pieces fit perfectly.

I'm sure there will be other colors from other companies, but I thought this will look good.

I sent an email to the company asking about individual pieces, since a few of them listed, e.g. the vent behind the armrest are not needed. I will ask if a piece is messed up on installation, if it can be replaced.

Re: Wood Trim Kit

Actually the one I did for my wife Beetle was peel and stick with a adhesice catalyst (a liquid that you apply before placing the piece down). It worked great.

So I'm assuming (and could be wrong) that this is the same.

Re: Wood Trim Kit

So - what's the deal with these kits? Are they actually wood or just decals?

Re: Wood Trim Kit

I have an important update. I found the maker of these kits and they have many other colors. The wood ones are wood and the others are synthetic.

Re: Wood Trim Kit

I went to a dealership and they had these wood trims installed. My opinion is.........it really looks tacky and cheesy. You should leave your car the way it is. But that is just my personal opinion on it. I don't want to offend anyone here.
