Leather dyeing service?

First, dear god: Please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong area. I realize the mods will strike down with the force of 1045 elephants and move this thread at the speed of light, but please forgive me

I am interested in having my black leather seat covers re-dyed. I am getting real annoyed with seeing all of the white through the cracks. My leather is just plain worn.

All I am coming up with for services is furniture restoration. Any help??

you'd probably be better off just getting them recovered. i have dyed 100's of seats and you'll need more than just the dye. you have to put a precleaner/stripper on, then dye, then put a topcoat on or the dye will just rub off. If i remember i will look at work and see what brand we use. pics of your seats would help also. if they are cracked then dye wont do squat.

you could probably use brand SEM and get it through a local auto paints store, it sprays pretty easy. But seeing how you say it's cracked/worn it prolly wouldnt work out that good just dying them.

I was hoping to get it done by a pro.

When I was having a tear repaired in my back seat, the guy showed me the diff between surface dyed (what the G has) and full-thickness dyed leather. I was hoping to get the leather re-dyed throughout. Apparently the cracks aren't nearly as visible if the leather is completely dyed, because the entire thickness is the same color, whereas with surface-dyed leather, you see the color of the raw leather through the cracks...
