Heater Switch Mod - Pics
Can someone direct me to the DIY for removing the seat heater switch from the center console? Got the console off, but can't figure out how to unhook the seat heater switches from the wire connection or how to get them out of the console itself. Was able to unhook all the other connectors (cigarette lighter, auto-shift light, etc.) Thanks.
Both of my heated switch lights went out. Ordered a set of super white LEDs (#74, type B) from autolumination.com, and just installed one for the driver side heated seat switch (gonna do the passenger side sometime this week). Looks really good, and the install wasn't too bad after following the steps documented by sliderg35 (except for probably bending the leads on the new LED bulb to the socket since they're so damn small). For those planning to do this mod, get yourself one of those small size jewelry screwdrivers to swap out the bulbs from the sockets.

That blue looks awesome! My driver side heater switch light is out too and I might just have to do this. Do you have a pic of your white led clock? I just replaced mine with the super bright orange leds but it just seems blah to me. Bet the white looks clean!
just followed this step-by-step which was great, changed it to red which looks great, but unfortunately my seat heater does not seem to be working anymore...i think i may end up just ordering a new switch and leaving it as is. also, it's quite hard to get the switch out of the console..let me know if you need help with that step
Nice little mod, my pass side keeps burning out. Had it replaced under warranty two times, out of warranty now and I think I may do this.
Okay, so if I order the bulbs I order #74 type B, is there a size to the bulb that I should know?
Thanks.

For anyone doing this, I just did this, only I used a 4V LED from my local electronics store. In order to do this you need to add a resistor in line. I found the easiest place to do this was just to splice into the brown wire in the wiring harness to knock it down to an acceptable voltage. Reason behind using the 4V was I didn't want to wait on the shipping time to order them, seemed like more effort than I was willing to give.

looks awesome just wanted to know how much voltage is needed or can you replace is with any led ?
also the light that lets you know if the heater is on or off, i need to change that but it has a resistor. any ideas ?

I bought a wedge LED for the heated seats light, swapped the bulb with the LED and when I plug it in, it blows my console fuse. The LED that I got has a resistor on it, could that be why?
