Me Too!

I want to glue the plastic back down, but would have an easier time of it if I could take the door off.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!

No luck

I never did get the door off. I tried my best to Gorilla glue the cover back down, but now it's just stuck in a pulled up position b/c there was no way to clamp it down w/ the door on. Grrrr!

Same Problem

I have an '03 G35 Sedan with the same problem. The shop manual makes it look like all the screws which hold it in place are only accessable from the "back" side of the dash. I found 5 screws on the inside of the lid (2 of which I was sure attached the door to the pivot arms), but after removing all of the screws the door still won't budge.

Re-gluing the foam/vinyl without removing the door looks like a formula for disaster. Has anyone figured out the magic of removing the door?

Any help will be appreciated.

I did this last fall without taking the entire interior apart. If I remember correctly, I had to remove the small trim piece above it, and also ended up dropping the lower glove compartment.

There were a few screws holding it in place, and after that, with the proper leverage, you can CAREFULLY remove the door by prying the clips loose.

Mine has started pulling apart and bubbling again. If I have time, I may take a shot at taking it out again tomorrow. If I can, I'll write up a how-to when I do it. Removing it isn't that difficult.

Thanks for the suggestions

Thanks for the info. I'll take another look at it and see if I can make that work. What was the point of removing the lower glove box? Does that allow access to the screws behind the upper glove box door?

When you refer to the "small trim piece above the door" are you referring to the narrow black trim which runs above the right AC vent across to the left side of the upper glove box door? It wasn't obvious to me how to remove that piece. Does it just pry off?
