For those of you that aren't familiar with the early 2003 G35c 6mt's, they didn't have an arm rest like the later 2003.5 & 04's do. Well I had to have one. So while retrofiting the newer style console in my G, I noticed it didn't have a light in it like my old 2003 console did (it had a light for the coin holder). I noticed my existing Console light & socket was left bundled in a small wiring harness to the floor pan hump when I took the original console out. I also noticed the light happen to be in the same area as the new consoles location for the drink holder. So I drilled a small hole just below the drink divider flap & what do ya know, Indirect drink holder lighting! You can fold the divider flap in and it doesn't hit the bulb either. I had no Idea it would give Water Bottles such a Bright Glow at Night!!!
Canton_G35 (Joe) & I Looked at his Newer G with the new style console to see if there was a light hidden under the console, we couldn't find one. So I guess this would be a mod for the guys that have an early 2003 & wanted to get the new style console, unless you wanted to wire one in from scratch. which could probably be done...
