8000k putting excess strain on battery?

I recently replace the HID bulbs to an aftermarket 8000k set. Do they put an increased strain on the battery?

if you went from 35 to 55 watts. 8000k is just the temperature rating.

Nope. like Mike said.... if you have 55 watt ballast, more power is used. But with a stock 35 watt ballast... you're fine

It wont strain the battery unless you are running the car off with the lights on. The battery starts the car, the alternator provides the power to accessories like the lights after it cranks.

As a side note, I would not go above 6000k temp. IMO you loose too much output above that.

Adding another 40 watts (2x 35 to 55 watt ballasts) to your stock electrical system is nothing. If you start running multiple 1k+ audio amplifiers, then you might have to worry.
