Driver seat malfunction
Driver seat malfunction
Just recently this begin to happen. I don't know how or why or what to check to fix this problem.
When I lift the handle the seat will automatically move forward and move backward. When I press the button to move the seat forward or backwards I can only hear a click sound but no movement. I checked under the seat but did not see anything that may cause this. I don't have warranty anymore.
Can anyone suggest what I can do to fix this?
thanks for your time.

sorry i can't help, but its better than the problem i'm experiencing, whenever you put weight on the driver seat like a person to pilot the vehicle the seat automatically rolls all the way forward...i finally just unplugged the motor
no idea...my car isn't under warranty so i haven't brought it to the dealership and i haven't had enough time to pull the seat and spray any contact fluid to see if that helps...it's weird because with the motor plugged in and no one sitting in the seat it works fine but as soon as you sit down it automatically starts to move forward, but if you get up again it will stop
You think that's bad, every time I make a sharp left turn my seat automatically moves backwards all the way almost causing me to almost lose control through the turn because I have to stretch to reach the clutch and steering wheel...it only occurs during driving and only left turns!
has anyone ever sprayed contact switch cleaner into the switches? my motor has been unplugged for a while now that moves the seat forwards and backwards, but recently i can hear the contacts of the switch trying to move the seat (as in it makes the same sound as when you physically press the switch)....so my question is would i have to take the seat apart to spay the contact points of the switch or can i spray that stuff directly into the switches? the continuous ticking sound is driving me crazy
