Problem with driver's seat

Seat is all the way back. If you try to move it forward, the left side moves forward, but the right side doesn't, so the seat pivots to the right. The dealer said the entire left front seat adjuster needed to be replaced for $1400. This seems extreme for what appears to be no more than a jammed seat track. Has anyone seen this problem and repaired it?

Smile Problem with driver's seat

I just had mine fixed by a mechanic friend. I had same exact problem. The plastic gear in the seat track on the right side was wore out. This sounds like your problem too. A parts house wanted $900 for new replacement hardware which is basically the whole mechanism under the seat including the 3 motors. I was able to find used hardware from a salvage yard with a 1-yr warranty. Only the tracks with the gears imbedded were replaced. Mechanic left the rest of the hardware intact. Now I have extra motors incase I need them. Cost for the mechanism was $361 which included the seat bottom with attached hardware & a 1-yr warranty. Once fixed you have to turn the ignition to the on position until the airbag light goes out, then turn ignition off. Repeat this 4x total otherwise your airbag light will blink.

I'm having the same issue right now. Anyone know how long the warranty from the dealer will cover this issue?
