Center Console: Titanium vs. Black?

My car has the titanium colored center console and I think it looks kinda cheezy. I'm not sure if painting it high gloss black or flat black would be better though ( and by gloss I mean mirror gloss ). Or maybe clear coat the titanium to make it look super glossy? What do you guys think? If anyone has done this, please post pics.

I love that look, but while I'm great with paint, I suck at cloth.

This is a pic of the oem titanium. I could basically just get this and clear coat it to make it glossy.

^^ My interior looks like this. I've often wondered how it would look in black - the trick might be to match the texture of the other smooth black interior parts. If it's flatter or glossier than, say, the vent surrounds, it might look odd. Need an ace photochopper to chime in!

Gloss piano black was my first choice til I had it wrapped with CF vinyl. PLease dont keep it the crap silver color. It looks cheap.

honestly I love the titanium.... maybe its because my car is silver... but i feel that it really breaks up the interior nicely

You can buy titanium- or silver-coloured CF cloth. Or practically any other colour, but that gets into the tacky realm. No, I'm not selling the stuff.

That silver looking CF looks like crap. There is not much contrast in the weave so it almost looks like all one color. Black CF is the way to go. THe 03 and 04s were not fortunate to get enough to get the more realistic looking aluminum console. FOr those with a BS car, a nice touch would be to get the console color matched. I was thinking about this for a minute but decided against it. For the OP, just repaint the console and clearcoat it. Spraying clear coat over what you have now will only enhance any imperfections you have on the finish of the console.

It's in perfect condition and literally has ZERO scratches or wear so that won't be a problem. But either way I think I'm going black.

I think glossy interior looks bad...i'd go with a flat black, much cleaner. Also, the pic you posted, was that just an example or a shot your actual car? If it's your car, it looks like the titanium finish is an overlay trim kit. I'd just peel it off and leave it the original factory black/graphite color. Mine had this awful looking wood grain stick-on trim kit so I peeled it off and used adhesive remover to get the residue off. I love the stock black trim

I was thinking of taking all my titanium pieces out and painting it a nice silver color and painting the piece around the clock out also and painting that to match..

It was an example, but I just noticed that you are right, it IS an overlay...lol.

I'm still thinking....
