Bypass automatic shift button?

Hey guys i know its a safety feature but i was curious if there was a way to bypass the button on the shifters for the automatics? I noticed if i kept the button pressed at all times there is a safety lock mechanism where you have to depress the button in order for you to get the key totally out. Is there a way to bypass this? My idea is that i want to shorten the **** and throw on a ball ****. A buddy of mine did it on his e46 and it looks great.

I tried this with no luck, this was easily done on older carsss

look up RAZO RA89 - best looking **** for autos that want to go this above mentioned route. There's a vendor or two who sells this item on here. (iboughtitoffthissite)
They also make a black one, just cant find a company that has one in stock.

Because the button hits a vertical piston that is spring loaded, I would think that you can use a manual shift **** (or ball) at the button it self, just have it so that you put the ball down.. no?

if you pull the shifter bezel off, you cna get a closer look at how it operates. basically all you have to do to disable is grind down the plastic tab that keeps it locked. its hard to explain but youll understand once you see it

no, its down below the shifter. if i remember correctly, the piece you need to grind or shave down is white. its a nylon piece with "steps" in it which prevent the shifter from being moved unless foot is on the brake and button is pushed in
