Power Window issues - 2006 G35 Coupe

Spent my entire day attempting to repair my passenger power window

History/symptoms:
Window would sometimes move slowly, but WOULD open and close....
Sometimes you would open the window, and then it would not close....but if you open and close the door, then it would close

Sometimes you'd open the window all the way and then it wouldn't close at all
Fortunately, one of the times, we closed the window and left it closed...

Now...it won't open at all.......and it won't even move slightly down when you open the door...

My repair attempt

Window was in full up position
1. Removed door panel
2. Removed inner steel panel
3. Removed window motor from it's mounting bracket
4. Removed armature to inspect brushes......looked just fine
5. Plugged un-mounted motor in to check to see if it worked, and it does
6. Reasembled motor unit to steel inner panel.
7. Reassembled inner panel to door
8. Plugged it all in
9. Turned key to on and lowered window slowly....got down to the bottom and it would NOT raise up no matter what I would do

Repeated steps 2 thru 5 above then manually lowered the window partially
Repeated steps 6 thru 8 then turned key on and raised the window all the way up
then closed the door and attempted "Window limit switch reset procedure"........the window would NOT lower not matter what I'd try

Results
Now I'm wondering if I have a bad window control switch....or if I've just errored in any of the procedure.....when I disassembled everything the second time, the motor did seem a bit warm, like maybe something was in a bind. I suppose I could still have a defective window motor too....

Anyone have any suggestions?

your window brushes might be worn out. the thread below will help explain how the motors on the Z's and G35's work....and unfortunately eventually every motor will wear out due to the wearing of the brushes.

My car only has 33,000 miles and the passenger window rarely gets used.......I know that things can just have defects...but that usually shows up within a year or two.
Do you suppose it's possible that the door window switch could be bad?

Did you ever get this issue fixed because I had the SAME problem.. I don't know if it's the motor but I bought it used from a G about 26000 miles and I put it in for a month and it's going bad. Could it be the tracks that are messed up? If so, how do I change those.. It seems like a pain in the ***

Lol yup, I've had my car since 08 and it finally got rear ended by a dmbfck 20 year old in a F150 pick up.. It was parked in a street parking (3am) and it got hit, then the guy ran into another 3 cars. I called the cops as soon as I heard the bangs and my viper alarm started going off. He lived in the neighborhood so luckily his mom admitted his fault after he left the scene before the cops arrived. After two weeks of investigating, just yeaterday my car went into the body shop to be repaired under Progressive (other guys insurance) had estimated $3000 worth of repairs but today I received a call and the body shop said there is another $3200 worth of damage. So let's see what they say, at this point I rather have it totaled even though I have put SO much time and love into the car.
