Door Grab Covers
Door Grab Covers
After the dealer told me he Wanted $60 each for new covers, I decided to restore my originals. One was snapped completely in half, the other had some deep scratches. Here's what I did.
1. Glued the broken one with a two part epoxy. wet sanded it with 600 grit paper, cleaned and dried it, then sprayed it with a matching pewter paint from Advance Auto. I thought it would break when I snapped it back into place.... it didn't and looks brand new, cant even see where the break was.
2. For the Scratched one, I filled the scratches with automotive spot putty, wet sanded smooth, same procedure as above. Can of paint $6 bucks, spot putty $3 bucks, telling the dealer to stick it, ......."priceless".
