Gauge Pod Coverage....What did you do?

I haven't seen any threads like this so I'm going to ask this simple question, when/if you guys added gauges with a gauge pod how did you have it covered to match your headliner. I had mine covered and I'm extremely unhappy with the results of two fat seams which looks like crap. Gotta take it back Monday and ask them to re-due it or I just thru $75= away. Any ideas on doing this job right....??

Amazing all our members with gauge pods on their posts and no one has an opinion on how to cover them so they look right/finished.....

Naturally I did SEARCH and went thru two dozen pages of threads and even more comments to no avail. Just trying to do the job "Right" like everything else on SLICK, may end up having both posts done in leather. The gauge pod has already cost me $100= and I'm starting over with a new one which won't be here until next week....

I give up on the idea of covering the gauge pod, checked a Buddy's truck and his is painted to match his headliner. Monday I'm going to my automotive paint store and buy vinyl paint to match my headliner, cost is + or - $30= and the job is done in a few hours....

i painted mine gary. i don't think its worth wrapping it in fabric unless you're doing other interior work.

Thanks Chris, the pod I had covered I wouldn't put in my jeep (if I had one) so painting to match my headliner is a better way to go. Once I get both my gauges, install will go quick. Canceled my order for the oil pressure gauge cause it's been over a month since I sent the water temp gauge back they sent me instead. Probably end up eating the cost of that one. Ordering one thru our MARKETPLACE on Monday where I should have in the first place, live and learn! Love the look of the AutoMeter cobalt gauges....

For future reference if you want to install gauges go to a automotive paint store where they sell primer/paint that covers plastic....important! I color matched mine to the headliner and it looks fine. Love the gauges, now I know what's going on under my hood....
