Door lock trouble :|

I need to figure out how to remove my door lock cylinder, not the actuator, but the cylinder itself. I'm getting a divorce and my soon to be ex-wife has my spare transponder key(i have both FOBs). I dont want her driving off with my car(since we're still married and she has a key, i cant report it stolen). so my solution is to remove and replace the door lock cylinder, as long as she cant open the door, she cant take the car. while I continue my door lock cylinder search, does anyone know if:

1. can I disconnect the lock(mechanical part) and still retain my electronic locking?
2. is the lock cylinder connected to the latching mechanism?
3. to all of you who have opened the door panel up, yanoe how the end of the cables from the door lock to the inside lock/actuator have the ***** on them? is it the same on the other end? can i just slip it out and temporarily disconnect the thing?
