Ive read the TSB's arent "honored" unless the car is withing warranty, which my isn't. Is there a way to DIY fix it or does everyone just leave it as it lol?

Purchased an 06 G that had the driver's seat tear and, of course, way out of warranty for the TSB. Looked at the TSB for the fix. http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/loca...d&pp=10&page=6
Couldn't replace the seat cushion, but was able to file off the sharp edges of the finisher after removing the side trim on the seat.
Afterwards, I used this product to cover the tear.
Amazon Amazon
Worked pretty well and matches the seat color very well for an inexpensive quick fix.
My expensive fix will be when I have the money to get the seats reupholstered.

You could also take it to an upholster that will fix the tear for you. Just look for auto upholstery shops near you and see what they can do.
