Just purchased 2005 6mt coupe. In need of arm rest mounting bolt size.

Hello All,

i have searched every G35 forum i can find, gone to dealership parts depts, and i tried random bolts from the hardware store but alas i still have no answer..

What size bolt/screw and thread pattern do i need for the 3 bolt/screws that hold down the arm rest hinge in a 2005 manual coupe?

I purchased a very clean Ivory Pearl 2005 6mt Coupe that the previous owner has installed the arm rest delete kit in. I have sourced an arm rest but i cannot find a bolt that works. I hope i can get some help from you guys.

Thanks in advance
-Phil

Hey Phildo916,

I took a couple of pictures of the screws you're looking for. I have a 2006 6MT Coupé which I believe should have the same interior (I *think* the only difference between the 2005 Coupé refresh and the 2006 Coupé refresh were exterior).

Looks like the outer diameter (OD) is 4.5 mm, pitch is 1.67 mm, and length is 15 mm.
Looking up the measurements it looks like #10-16 x 1/2 screws.

Can you access the threaded 'part' that they go into and remove it and take to a hardware store with you ? Those really just look like screws, not bolts. Screws just go into a drilled hole with no pre-existing threads. Once screws are put into these holes, you have to get screws with identical threads or even better, go slightly larger and "cut" new threads into the material.

Awesome thank you so much for doing this. I havent had a chance to source the #10-16 x 1/2 screws from my local fastenol. I will do so and follow up with the results.

I have had 5 japanese brand cars in my life and all of them used screw type fasteners throughout the interior. None of the screw style fasteners were used to create their own seating threads. No need to take the center console apart and take it to a hardware store, and no need to use larger thread pitched screws.
