Driver's seat loose - rocks forward

My driver's seat is loose. The entire seat, bottom and back, can rock forward and back a bit. When you hit the brakes anywhere from moderate to panic, the seat rocks forward immediately (and it's a little disconcerting).

My service advisor had a new TSB that was supposed to address this issue. They ordered a bracket for the seat assembly, where it mounts to the floor. I took it in this morning to have it fixed.

When I went to pick it up, I was told the tech that did the job didn't think it helped, maybe just a little bit. He was right. It didn't. The seat still rocks forward. Mine was the 2nd car they've done this to, and they have 3 scheduled next week. It looks like this TSB isn't fixing the problem. The service manager was gone for the weekend. I may have more info on Monday.

My seat doesn't rock noticeably, but every once in a while I feel this kind of 'click' when I accelerate or stop. Almost like the seat shifts or something. Yes, a bit disconcerting. Can't seem to reproduce it by grabbing the seat, or shifting my butt. Does the TSB apply to Canada as well?

I got the same problem fixed this afternoon. They had to special order new seat track-problem is fixed. It took a week and a half to get the new track though.

Had the same problem. They ordered the parts for the TSB. Took it in for repair and one part in the kit was missing. They kept car for several days then did the repair only to find out that the seat still rocked. Said they had to 'replace the frame' which was several hundred dollars of parts (glad I didn't have to pay) and the problem was resolved. Seat is now solid as I could want it!

Yeah, the service advisors their said they suspected it was the entire seat frame that would need to be replaced, and said it costs about $1000 (but of course, would be under warranty). I'll see what happens when the service manager gets back in after the weekend.

Good luck-they fixed mine with no problem other than the time to get the frame.

Yeah, it took them that long just to get the bracket for me that didn't fix the problem.

I think part of the problem is backorders.. because now that there's a TSB, everybody's trying to get it fixed at once.
