Has anyone tried installing a wood kit or any part of one?
Is it hard? Instructions?

I had the kit partially installed by the dealer when I bought my G (thought the complete kit installed was to goddy). Now I want to install a few pieces myself, if its not to hard. Trying to save some cash and the hasle of droping it off.

Thanks in advance for any info offered up!

It is not hard. Patience is required. The entire kit can be applied in 2-3 hours.
Tools needed:
Good cleaner (alcohol based). Adhesive promoter (usually comes with kit). Grease pencil or crayon. Hairdryer (the most important tool).
Dry mount the piece to make sure it fits. If it is a big piece that can move around a lot. Mark the spot with a grease pencil (or crayon). Clean the mounting area real good. Use the promoter. Then soften the piece to apply with the hairdryer so it bends easily. Remove the backing and apply carefully. Do not press to mount firmly until the whole piece is mounted just in case you want to lift it again to move it a little. This can be done, but there is a danger of ruining the piece. Once that is done, apply pressure to the whole piece. You do not want to have to lift it after it has been pressed down.
See my installation in the photo gallery.

Yeah, its not difficult at all man. I've done it before on my beater car.....took about an hour, the main thing was to clean the areas with alcohol, then use a blowdyer on its Hottest setting to warm up the wood pieces so that they bend around the contours of the interior, make sure you lay out the kit and try to fit each piece on the dash BEFORE you expose the sticky side, this way will help you decide which pieces you will put on and which you will want to leave off (mainly because of fitting and looks)

Your guys are awesome! Thanks for the info! Think ill try it out this weekend...now that I have the confidence. :-)
Now all I need to do is get a bottle of the "promoter". Looks like the dealer kept it when they did the partial install of the kit. #^@%! :-)

This is my first post and I really appreciate the support and feedback. I will do my best to return the favor as much as possible.
