removing rear seats in the coupe

I am currently trying to remove the rear seats in my coupe according to

G-Squad DIY Section | Coupe Rear Deck Disassembly/Rattle Repair

Is there any trick to removing the lower seat cushion? I've been trying for about 30 minutes to attempt to remove it with no luck. I pulled the heck out of it and even lifted the rear of the seat and looked at it through the trunk. It won't budge any to allow me to pop the metal loop out of the clip.

Has anyone ran into a problem removing this portion of the seat?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Scott

Has to be a sharp/sudden and hard pull. Pull the middle of each section. There's a tab in the middl eof the left side (the actual seat) and the middle of the right. It has to be a fast pull or else you'll bend the seat. Hope that helps.

It's not hard once you understand it pulls straight up and needs a good amount of force. Grab the front bottom of the seat about 12-18" from the outside edge. Pull straight up firmly to release the one clip at the front. Repeat the same thing on the other side and and the seat will be free to lift up and out.
It will take a fair amount of lifting effort but don't worry, you won't damage the seat in any way. It's made to be flexible.

thank you both! I got it.

Had to lift up so hard that I hit my head on the roof. I am completely disasembled now with the rear deck lid cover off.

Now I am contemplating changing the 6x9's while I am back there since there is too much risk of damaging the plastic panels and window tint by removing them again.

Any suggestions on 6x9's?

Thanks again!

No sweat. haha on the head thing. I did it too on the first one I got free.

There are others on this board who know a lot more about sound systems than I do. There are a number of suggestions in the audio section.

cheers Deane
